On Saturday July 4th, was the four year anniversary of when the Golden State Warriors signed superstar Kevin Durant to a 2 Year-$54 million dollar contract. In order to afford Durant, the Warriors had to trade Andrew Bogut and Harrison Barnes. The Warriors did this after blowing a 3-1 lead in the Finals to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Kevin Durant was called a snake because he left a good Thunder team and best friend Russell Westbrook to form a super team.
I hope everyone had a safe and happy 4th of July. I hope nobody ended up like Tampa Bay Buccaneers players Jason Pierre Paul and CJ Wilson who lost multiple fingers in separate accidents related to fireworks.
However, even though a lot of people started to hate the Warriors and Durant for his decision it paid off. Durant was able to further cement his legacy and win two NBA Championships and two Finals MVP.
When Durant joined, the Warriors were considered one of the most dominant teams since LeBron’s Heat and Jordan’s Bulls.
