After the Qualifying Round ended, there is now a new bracket full of teams.
Eastern Conference:
#8 Montreal Canadiens vs. #1 Philadelphia Flyers
The Canadiens advanced by upsetting the Pittsburgh Penguins in four games. The Flyers claimed the one seed after beating every team in the Round Robin. This should be a good series featuring two great goalies.
#7 Columbus Blue Jackets vs. #2 Tampa Bay Lightning
The Blue Jackets advanced after eliminating the Toronto Maple Leafs in 5 games. The Tampa Bay Lightning claimed the two seed after defeating the Boston Bruins and Washington Capitals in the Round Robin. This will be a great and physical series.
#6 New York Islanders vs. #3 Washington Capitals
The New York Islanders advanced after defeating the Florida Panthers in 4 games. The Washington Capitals claimed the three seed after defeating the Boston Bruins in the Round Robin. This will be an interesting series as Barry Trotz gets to coach against his former team.
#5 Carolina Hurricanes vs. #4 Boston Bruins
The Carolina Hurricanes advanced after sweeping the New York Rangers. The Boston Bruins got the fourth seed after going winless in the Round Robin. I am looking forward to watching this series as well as every other one.
Western Conference:
#8 Chicago Blackhawks vs. #1 Vegas Golden Knights
The Blackhawks advanced after upsetting the Edmonton Oilers in four games. Vegas earned the one seed after going undefeated in the round robin.
#7 Arizona Coyotes vs. #2 Colorado Avalanche
The Coyotes advanced after upsetting the Nashville Predators in four games. The Avalanche claimed the two seed after going 2-1 in the Round Robin.
#6 Calgary Flames vs. #3 Dallas Stars
The Flames advanced after defeating the Winnipeg Jets in four games. The Stars earned the three seed after going 1-2 in the Round Robin.
#5 Vancouver Canucks vs. #4 St. Louis Blues
The Canucks advanced after eliminating the Minnesota Wild in four games. The Blues earned the four seed after going winless in the Round Robin.
