Cody vs. Eddie Kingston for the TNT Championship in a No Disqualification Match
Eddie Kingston is making his AEW Dynamite debut. He accepted Cody’s open challenge for The American Nightmare’s championship. Kingston went right after Cody with strong punches. Cody hit Kingston with the Disaster Kick as Kingston left the ring. Cody then took the fight outside by jumping between the ropes. Kingston used Cody’s own belt as a weapon. Cody flips Kingston over the exposed concrete at ringside. Kingston sent Cody back first into a pile of thumbtacks with a powerbomb. Cody locked in the Figure Four and Kingston tapped.
Results: Cody defeats Eddie Kingston to retain his TNT Championship via submission
Grade: A+

MJF vs. Griff Garrison
Griff Garrison is also making his AEW Dynamite debut. However, he is 0-3 on AEW Dark. MJF is accompanied by Wardlow. MJF cut a very good promo on Garrison before striking him with the microphone. MJF had control over this match and never lost it through the first commercial break. We returned with the two outside of the ring and then MJF grabbed a microphone and started taunting Griff during the match. Garrison poked the microphone into MJF’s eye and then used a rollup for a near fall. MJF hit the Heat Seeker for the win.

The Young Bucks vs. The Butcher and The Blade in a Falls Count Anywhere Match
The match began in the kitchen area. We saw a lot of entertaining and unique moves such as using some of the kitchen equipment. Then the fight was taken into the concourse area. The Jackson’s were sent inside a truck and on the side of the same truck. The Blade was sent into a concessions stand. The Young Bucks both super kicked The Blade as he fell and went up the escalator. The match returned from commercial break as The Young Bucks and Butcher were at ringside. Nick and Matt Jackson put both opponents through a table in order to get the win.

Diamante vs. Ivelisse
Ivelisse was making her AEW debut as well. The former Tough Enough contestant attacked Diamante before the bell but lost her momentum shorty after. Most of the action was strikes as opposed to grapples, submissions, or high-flying moves. Diamante was able to get the win continuing her winning streak.

Five vs. Hangman Page
Hangman Page hit Five with a strong punch. Page then hit Five with some strong slaps to the chest. Five used his agility to temporarily create some separation. Page used his size and strength to his advantage. Other members of the Dark Order came out to watch the match right before commercial. Five was able to get a series of shots in before being clotheslined. Page was outnumbered 5-1 but still picked up the win and challenged The Dark Order. Brodie Lee and Colt Cabana also came out to aid The Dark Order. After Page denied Brodie Lee’s invitation to the Dark Order he was attacked by the five members. FTR ran to the aid of Hangman Page and helped him with Kenny Omega following him.

Jungle Express vs. Inner Circle
Jericho and Jungle Boy started out the match for their respected teams. Jericho went right after Jungle Boy. However, Jungle Boy was able to use his speed and agility and dropped Jericho with a dropkick. Luchasaurus and Jake Hager both entered the ring where both big men traded strikes. Hager locked in an ankle lock until Luchasaurus forced the rope break. Jericho went after the match and went after Luchasaurus’s legs. Right before commercial break, Jericho punched Marko Stunt in the face. Jericho has had full advantage of Jungle Boy. Santana and Ortiz were at ringside. While Aubrey Edwards was dealing with them, Stunt returned and hit Jericho with a drop kick off the top rope. Jericho and Hager picked up the win and after the match we saw Sammy Guevara return to help the attack. However, Best Friends came out and The Inner Circle retreated.

Grade: A-

Analysis: This card featured some of the best wrestling I’ve seen in months. However, I did not like the women’s match and the Hangman Page match. I would give this card a B-.
