The MLB season had to be delayed due to COVID-19. We would normally see Opening Day in April however, Opening Day this year was July 24th as we saw the New York Yankees defeat the Washington Nationals in a game that only lasted five innings due to a rain delay and the Los Angeles Dodgers defeat the San Francisco Giants. MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred made many rules to ensure the baseball season can still happen. The National League will now have a Designated Hitter, extra inning games will now start with a runner on second, and players will have to be tested frequently. Also the MLB season will now be 60 games with 40 against your division and 20 against your region of the opposite league. So now instead of getting 162 games we will now see 162 games. Also the MLB expanded the playoffs to 16 teams.
AL Winner: New York Yankees
I strongly believe the Yankees will make it to the World Series. It has been over a decade since they went last to the World Series. They also have one of the most explosive and complete rosters even without Domingo German and Luis Severino. The Yankees rolled out the red carpet for marquee ace Gerrit Cole. The Yankees will come out of the gates strong as they want vengeance for having to deal with the Astros and Red Sox cheating scandals. The Yankees are dominant at pretty much every position. They are also very well-rounded in contact, speed, power, and solid pitching. Expect the Yankees to go far this year.
NL Winner: Los Angeles Dodgers
I feel the Dodgers will make it to the World Series as well. They also had a very good offseason as they acquired David Price and Mookie Betts in a trade with the Boston Red Sox. The Dodgers also have solid players in Corey Seager, Clayton Kershaw, Alex Wood, Justin Turner, Max Muncy, and many more. Dodgers fans are finally hoping they can not only make it to the World Series but finally win. The Yankees also have a lot of depth on the bench that would start for most teams such as Miguel Andujar, Clint Frazier, and Mike Ford.
World Series Winner: New York Yankees in 6 games
I believe the New York Yankees will win the World Series this year. For the most part and as of now the Yankees are healthy with lots of loaded talent and depth. Also, the Yankees did not lose any major pieces. The Yankees lost Dellin Betances to the Mets but the Yankees bullpen will be fine and they also lost Didi Gregorius which sucks but there was not much room for him anyways with DJ Lemahieu and Gleyber Torres.
