Top Ten Quarterbacks of All-Time

In the 100 NFL seasons we have had, we have experienced many elite Hall-of-Fame quarterbacks. These quarterbacks have also done wonders for their franchises. In today’s article I get into the ten greatest QB’s of all-time in my opinion.

  1. Tom Brady

In my opinion, Tom Brady is the Greatest Quarterback of All-Time. In terms of accolades, nobody has achieved more than Brady. He defined all odds and went from a skinny 6th round pick to the best QB of all-time in some people’s eyes. He has a career record of 219-64, 63.8% completion percentage, and 74,571 passing yards. He is also second all-time in touchdowns with 541 and 179 interceptions. For every three touchdowns Brady throws one interception which is an amazing statistic. Brady has 3 MVP’s, 14 Pro Bowl Selections, 6 Super Bowl Rings, and 4 Super Bowl MVP’s. The Patriots have not done much historically before Brady. Now the New England Patriots are tied with the Pittsburgh Steelers with most Super Bowls. The most impressive performance I saw from Brady was when he came back from a 28-3 deficit against the Atlanta Falcons in the Super Bowl in 2017.

2. Joe Montana

At #2 I have Joe Montana. For most people, these two are interchangeable. Montana had a record of 117-47 with a 63.2% completion percentage, and 40,551 passing yards. Montana threw 273 touchdowns and 139 interceptions. Montana has won 2 MVP’s along with 8 Pro Bowl Selections. Montana has also won the Big Game 4 times with 3 of them resulting in Super Bowl MVP.

3. Peyton Manning

Peyton Manning had an amazing career. He had a career record of 186-79 with a 65.3% completion percentage, and 71,940 passing yards. Manning also threw 539 touchdowns and 251 interceptions. Manning had 5 MVP’s and 14 Pro Bowl selections. He won 2 Super Bowls, one with the Indianapolis Colts and one with the Denver Broncos. He won Super Bowl MVP once. Manning would make a better argument to be #2 if he was more successful against Brady in the playoffs and did not turnover the ball as much. However, Peyton Manning is still a top-3 QB of all-time.

4. Johnny Unitas

In my opinion, 4-10 is very difficult to decide and is a huge debate. I have Johnny Unitas but you can make a case for a few other people. Unitas had a record of 118-53-4 with a 54.6% completion percentage while adding 40,239 passing yards. He added 290 touchdowns and 253 interceptions. His touchdown to interception ratio is not the best. However, he has 3 MVP’s, and 10 Pro Bowl selections. Unitas has also won 3 NFL Championships and 1 Super Bowl.

5. Brett Favre

Sneaking in the top-5, I have Brett Favre. Favre coined the nickname the Gunslinger with his arm strength and throwing ability. Favre had a career record of 186-112, with a 62% completion percentage while adding 71,838 passing yards. He also threw for 508 touchdowns and 336 interceptions. Although his interceptions total is high, the fact he threw for over half a thousand touchdowns is quite astounding. Favre won the MVP award 3x while being selected to the Pro Bowl 11x. He led the Packers to 1 Superbowl.

6. Dan Marino

Dan Marino had one amazing career. He had a record of 147-93 with a 59.4% completion percentage and 61,361 passing yards. Marino threw 420 touchdowns and 252 interceptions. Marino has 1 MVP and 9-time Pro Bowler. Marino made it to the Super Bowl once and lost to the San Francisco 49ers. Marino retired holding many NFL records. If Marino won a Super Bowl he would easily be a top-5 QB of all-time.

7. Otto Graham

At #7, I have Otto Graham. He had a short, but still effective career. His career record was 57-13-1. He had a 55.8% completion percentage. He also threw for 23,584 yards which is pretty impressive for the amount of games he has played in. He threw for 174 touchdowns and 135 interceptions. Graham won the MVP Award 3 times and was selected to the Pro Bowl 5 times. Graham is a 3 time NFL Champion and a 4-time AAFC Champion.

8. John Elway

John Elway had a very successful career with the Denver Broncos. Elway had a record of 148-82-1 with a 56.9%. He also added 51,475 passing yards. Elway had 300 touchdowns and 226 interceptions. He won the MVP once and was a 9-time Pro Bowl selection. Elway also is a 2-time Super Bowl winner and won the Super Bowl MVP once.

9. Drew Brees

Drew Brees is a future-hall-of-famer. Brees has been overlooked his whole career due to people doubting how successful an undersized QB can be. Leaving the San Diego Chargers may have been the best thing for Brees and his career. Brees has a career record of 163-111 with an impressive 67.6% completion percentage. Brees has also thrown for 77,416 yards. Brees is also currently first in all-time touchdowns with 547. Brees also has 237 interceptions. Somehow, Brees has never won an MVP and he has finished second four times. However, he is a 13-time Pro Bowler. Brees has won one Super Bowl and was the MVP for that game.

10. Aaron Rodgers

The 10th spot on this list was the most difficult for me to give. There are so many decisions such as Steve Young, Sammy Baugh, Warren Moon and many more. Ultimately, I feel like Aaron Rodgers deserves it. Rodgers has a record of 113-60-1 with a 64.6% completion percentage. Rodgers also had 46,946 passing yards. Rodgers also has thrown 364 touchdowns and 84 interceptions. Rodgers carried the Packers even with a weak receiving core some parts of his career. Rodgers has won MVP twice and made it to the Pro Bowl 8 times. He won the Super Bowl once and won Super Bowl MVP.

Viking Raiders vs. Angel Garza and Andrade in an Elimination Tag Team Match

Garza and Andrade were accompanied by Zelina Vega. Garza and company went right after the Viking Raiders. Garza and Andrade had control of most of the match. The Viking Raiders were able to show off their agility which was very impressive considering how big they are. Erik was eliminated early. However, Ivar was able to hold his ground. Shortly after, he eliminated Andrade. He then turned his focus to Angel Garza. As Ivar put Garza away or so we thought, Andrade sneaks in and moves Garza’s foot to the rope causing a break. Garza then hit Ivar with a powerbomb for the win.

Result: Angel Garza and Andrade defeat the Viking Raiders via pinfall

Grade: C

The IIconics vs. Ruby Riott and Bianca Belair

Ruby Riott was finally able to find someone to help her against the IIconics. Riott’s partner is the EST of WWE Bianca Belair. It has been a while since we have seen Belair on the main roster on television. The IIconics have made frequent tags and double team moves to ground and isolate Riott. They would make sure Belair never got in the match. However, once she dud she took over the match. Belair showed off her strength by squatting Billie Kay. Belair was able to hit the KOD on Kay for the win

Result: Ruby Riott and Bianca Belair defeat The IIconics via pinfall

Grade: B-

Murphy vs Aleister Black

In what was supposed to be a match between Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens turned out to be a match between Murphy and Aleister Black. Rollins came out to criticize Mysterio for choosing an eye for an eye match at Extreme Rules. Kevin Owens came to embarrass and humiliate Rollins saying he would have risked his career to shut Rollins up. Rollins called Murphy to attack Owens before Black came to the aid of Owens which led to a brawl at ringside. Murphy and Black are two rising stars with strong and powerful strikes. Their rivalry continues in yet another match. Owens and Rollins are both at ringside. Murphy has effectively and strategically gone after the legs of Black. Black hit Murphy with the Black Mass. Before the three count, Rollins pulled Black out of the ring causing a disqualification.

Result: Aleister Black defeats Murphy via disqualification

Grade: C

Seth Rollins vs Kevin Owens

In a rematch from WrestleMania, the two square off once again. Owens go straight after Rollins to the point where Owens begs for mercy. Rey Mysterio, Dominic, and Black were all at ringside. Rollins was tossed out of the ring and all three cornered Rollins forcing him to get back in the ring. Everyone at ringside has heavily made an impact on the match. Rollins was able to take advantage but is still outnumbered. Rollins then cowardly gauges the eye of Owens. Mysterio, Dominik, and Black surround Rollins until Owens could recuperate and hit the Stunner for the victory.

Result: Kevin Owens defeats Seth Rollins via pinfall

Grade: A-

R-Truth vs. Randy Orton

I have no idea what the point of this match is. Orton is a top-star in this industry and he is fighting R-Truth whose role is to entertain. Truth is the 24/7 Champion and is a jogger. Orton is main-event caliber while R-Truth provides comedy and entertainment. Truth is no longer the wrestler he once was. Truth got a few punches in before being RKO’d. After the match, Orton tried to attack Truth before Flair prevented him and the Big Show came out. Orton then challenged Big Show to an unsanctioned match next week on Raw.

Result: Randy Orton defeats R-Truth via pinfall

Grade: F

Bobby Lashley vs. Ricochet

Ricochet started going right after Lashley however, Lashley shrugged off the kicks. Lashley chased Ricochet out of the ring and used his size and speed to his advantage. Ricochet wasn’t able to get much offense in. Lashley made Ricochet tap out with the Full Nelson. He would not let go of the hold until Cedric Alexander came in the ring. Alexander ended up being in a Full Nelson of his own.

Result: Bobby Lashley defeats Ricochet via submission

Grade: F

The Kabuki Warriors vs. Bayley and Sasha Banks for the Women’s Tag Team Championship

Asuka and Banks start off the match for their respective teams. The two started arguing before Banks ran to the rope. Banks then tagged in Bayley. Bayley and Banks are looking to get Asuka so heated up that she would make a mistake for the champions to capitalize on. This rivalry has been going on and is heating up. It is only going to escalate at Extreme Rules as Banks challenges for Asuka’s championship. Bayley has had control of most of the match. Asuka was able to use the double knees and then make a tag to Kairi Sane. The Pirate Princess went after both Banks and Bayley. The Kabuki Warriors were able to take advantage with their strong strikes. Bayley Dos Belts provides a crucial distraction in the match to allow them to regain control. Then they sent Kairi Sane into the plexiglass before the commercial. Raw comes back from commercial to Banks applying a submission on Sane. Banks then tags in Bayley hitting her with multiple strikes. Asuka applied the Asuka Lock and Banks was able to roll over and force a rope break. Kairi Sane hit the Insane Elbow but Bayley pulled Sane out of the ring. Banks was able to put Sane in the Bank Statement where Sane tapped out.

Result: Bayley and Sasha Banks defeat The Kabuki Warriors via submission to retain the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships

This weeks episode of Raw was terrible in my opinion. There were a lot of bad or mediocre matches with the exception of a couple of matches. I would give this weeks episode a C+.

Rangers Goalie Situation

Due to the Coronavirus, the NHL season had to be cut short. This has affected many teams who were looking to make a push for the playoffs but were a few points short. Also, players were affected as they tried to reach career numbers.

Gary Bettman announced 24 teams would be in the playoffs, 12 from each conference. The Rangers made the playoffs as an 11-seed and will be playing the 6th seed Carolina Hurricanes. The two clubs will square off August 1st.

The Rangers have a goalie situation of three netminders who deserve to play. The Rangers have veteran Henrik Lundqvist, Alexander Georgiev, and Igor Shestyorkin. In my opinion, I feel like only two should play because not many teams carry three goalies when they can use more forwards and defenseman on the roster. Before, I decide who Dan Quinn and the Rangers should pick let me introduce them.

Henrik Lundqvist was drafted 205th overall by the New York Rangers. However, he has been one of the best goalies in the 2000s and early 2010s era. He will go down as one of the best Rangers goalies of all-time. He was a crucial piece of their 2014 Stanley Cup team that ended up losing to the Los Angeles Kings in 2014. This year is numbers are not anything to brag about as he has a record of 10-12-3. He has a 3.16 GAA and a .905% save percentage. In his 15 year NHL career the only time he had a losing record was this year and last year. In the 2011-2012 season, Lundqvist won the Vezina Trophy award for being the best goalie in the league. That year he went 39-18-5. Lundqvist had 8 shutouts that season posting a 1.97 GAA and a .930% save percentage. Lundqvist is for sure a future hall of famer.

The Rangers also have Alexander Georgiev. Georgiev is 24 years old. This season he had a record of 17-14-2. He had a 3.04 GAA with a .910% save percentage. He has been the starting netminder for the Blueshirts this year and most likely their future. His first year in the NHL was the 2017-2018 season but most of his playing time has come from the last two seasons.

The Rangers also have another 24-year-old netminder named Igor Shesterkin. Igor was drafted 118th overall by the Rangers in 2014. However, this year was his first year in the NHL. Even though he only played 12 games this season, his rookie campaign was impressive to say the least. Igor had a record of 10-2 with a GAA of 2.52 and a .932% save percentage. Like Georgiev his future is very promising and maybe even brighter.

This has to be a very tough decision for Dan Quinn to make. However, a decision must be made. If I was Quinn I would start Alexander Georgiev and make Henrik Lundqvist the backup. Lundqvist even though has not looked like his former self the last two years is still the leader of that locker room. He can also offer guidance and teach Georgiev and help take off some pressure of playing in the playoffs. Lundqvist almost won a Stanley Cup and is one of the most deserving players in the NHL. Georgiev should be the clear starter as he has been the starter and better player statistically for the past two years.

Even though Igor had a tremendous rookie season he should not play in the playoffs. He only played 12 games and that is not enough NHL experience to start in the playoffs. Igor could face a lot of nerves and emotions will be running high. Quinn and the Rangers cannot afford to put that much pressure on him. Also it is not fair for him or the team to rush him up and potentially ruin their career. We have seen it many times before with many players. Igor will have his time to shine once Lundqvist hangs up the skates which is most likely coming soon.

NBA Finals Prediction

Due to the current pandemic, the NBA season this year had to be cut short as well as most other sports. The NBA is having an eight game play in and taking nine teams in the eastern conference and thirteen teams in the Western Conference.

Teams will be playing in the ESPN Worldwide of Sports Complex in Disney at Orlando, Florida. The teams will start to play July 30th.

I think the Los Angeles Clippers will represent the Western Conference in the NBA Finals. They have an amazing roster consisted of Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, Patrick Beverly, Montrezl Harrell, and many more key contributers. They also are coached by Doc Rivers who is a great coach and has been in the NBA for a long time. I feel like a healthy and well-rested Kawhi Leonard could be dangerous. They are already one of the best defensive teams in the league. Kawhi took over for the Raptors last year and led them to their first NBA Championship in franchise history. It will be difficult for the Clippers to beat the Lakers but I have faith in the Clippers defense.

In the Eastern Conference, I think the Boston Celtics will advance. The Celtics also have a great roster in Kemba Walker, Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Gordon Hayward. They are also coached by Brad Stevens who is one of the best coaches in the NBA. It will be tough to beat the Milwaukee Bucks with Giannis Antetokounmpo but I have faith the Celtics can win the series.

In this NBA Finals I have the Clippers winning in 6 games. I think the pure dominance of the Clippers roster is too much for the Celtics to handle. The Celtics also have a weak bench compared to the Clippers. Doc Rivers would also love to beat his former team.

Miz vs. Jeff Hardy

The Miz and John Morrsion began the show taunting Jeff Hardy showing all of his failures including the feud with Sheamus. The Miz dominated most of the match, until Hardy was able to push through and find momentum. He used his traditional offense and then hit The A-Lister with his infamous Twist of Fate. Before attempting the Swanton Bomb, Sheamus came out to taunt distracting Hardy. Miz capitalized and rolled up Hardy but Hardy reversed and scored the pinfall victory.

Result: Jeff Hardy defeats The Miz via pinfall.

Grade: B

Sasha Banks and Bayley vs. Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross

Nikki Cross went right after Bayley and jumped on her back as Bayley tried to prepare for the match. Bliss saved her partner from the 2-on-1 attack by going after Banks. Referees had to go to the ring to restore order and get the competitors situated so the match can officially begin. Cross wanted vengeance and did whatever it took to beat these two. Bliss helped containing her except for one costly mistake. Bayley caught Cross in a roll-up for the three count.

Result: Sasha Banks and Bayley defeat Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross vis pinfall

Grade: A-

New Day vs. Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro

The team of Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro had control early on in the match. They had a smart game plan coming in to attack and neutralize Kofi Kingston. With Cesaro’s strength and Nakamura’s strong strikes they were able to take Big E out of action for a little bit. Big E, got heated and caused an all-out brawl in the ring. The ref had no choice but to toss this match out and have it end in a no contest. Cesaro and Nakamura controlled the brawl from there as they put Big E and Kofi through a table. The challengers then held the titles at the end of the night to close the show.

Result: New Day vs Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro ends in a no contest

This weeks show of Smackdown was pretty good. There was not a lot of matches as it was mostly promos. However, based on the matches only, I would give this show a B+.

Why the Cleveland Browns can’t afford to screw up anymore

The Cleveland Browns have been historically one of the worst teams in the league for the last two decades. The Browns have tied the Buffalo Bills for most consecutive seasons of not making the playoffs. The Browns have not made the Playoffs in 17 years. The last time they were in the playoffs was in 2002 where they lost in the wildcard.

The Browns have also been one of the worst drafting teams in the league as well as hiring a coaching staff.

The Browns have never made it to the Super Bowl and who knows when they will.

The Browns have dealt with many quarterbacks and a lot of terrible years. In 2017, the Cleveland Browns became the second team of all-time to go 0-16. They actually had a chance to beat the Pittsburgh Steelers in that last game and in typical Browns fashion they blew the game and lost.

There was even a point in time where the Browns were selling tickets for $5. Imagine being an NFL team in a major city such as Cleveland, that you have to sell tickets for $5 so people will come.

Ever since Tim Couch, the Browns have not had a relevant and consistent QB. There has been memes and merchandise made about the Browns awful QB’s. Their quarterbacks are Doug Pederson, Ty Detmer, Spergon Wynn, Kelly Holcomb, Jeff Garcia, and Luke McCown. Hold on it gets much worse. The Browns also had, Derek Anderson, Charlie Frye, Trent Dilfer, Brady Quinn, Ken Dorsey, and Bruce Gradkowski. Unfortunately for the Browns and Browns fans the list continues. They also had, Colt McCoy, Jake Delhomme, and Seneca Wallace. They also had Brandon Weeden, Thad Lewis, Jason Campbell, Brian Hoyer, Johnny Manziel, Josh McCown, Austin Davis, and Connor Shaw. Joining them are Cody Kessler, Robert Griffin III, DeShone Kizer, and Kevin Hogan. The Browns also had Tyrod Taylor. Most of these guys are busts and some players I have never even heard of. I truly feel bad for Browns fans and the city of Cleveland.

However, the Browns have faith in former #1 Pick Baker Mayfield to break out. In his rookie season he threw for 3,725 yards with 27 touchdowns and 14 interceptions where he finished second in Offensive Rookie of the Year behind Saquon Barkley. Last season however he had a pretty bad year that he would like to forget. Baker’s completion percentage was under 60% with 3,827 yards, 22 touchdowns and 21 interceptions.

However, the Browns are poised to be finally be successful or at least they should and need to. They made moves in the offseason such as drafting Jedrick Wills Jr. to give Baker some more time as well as signing Jack Conklin. The Browns also signed Austin Hooper. Even though David Njoku asked for a trade, if they can keep him on the team that would be a lethal offense. The Browns would have Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt at running back, Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry at wide receiver. They also have Njoku and Hooper at tight end. The Browns should have a much better offensive line with means Baker should perform better.

The Browns also have some good players on defense such as Myles Garrett and Olivier Vernon that provides the pass rush. They also have a good secondary with Karl Joseph, Andrew Sendejo, Denzel Ward, and Greedy Williams.

The Browns cannot afford to waste more of their young talent. Even though Baltimore will be the clear frontrunner in the division for a long time the Browns can still compete. The Bengals are rebuilding around Joe Burrow and who knows how long Big Ben can play for. With this updated team and the Steelers declining as well as more teams being allowed in the Playoffs the Browns need to make a splash like in the Draft Day movie. Cleveland finally deserves a good football team and they have the potential to do it.

Hopefully next year, Baker Mayfield can wake up feeling dangerous before every game.

AEW Fyter Fest Results Night 2 7/8/20

Private Party vs. Hangman Page and Kenny Omega for the AEW Tag Team Championships

Marq Quen and Kenny Omega started off the match for both teams. Omega took advantage in the match and pulled off a double-team move with Page. Chaos broke out at ringside as many wrestlers at ringside were involved and went to the ground. Private Party was accompanied by Matt Hardy. They had control until Omega baited Kassidy and got the knees up for a reversal. The champs were able to get the win with The Last Call.

Result: Kenny Omega and Hangman Page defeat Private Party to retain the AEW Tag Team Championships

Grade: B

Lance Archer vs. Joey Janella

Lance Archer stormed to the ring attacking Joey Janella and Sunny Kiss. Archer uses his size and strength while Janella uses his speed and agility. During the commercial break, Archer took advantage and threw Janella like a rag doll. Archer threw him from one barricade from another. Janella tried multiple clotheslines to try and bring the Murderhawk down but was unsuccessful. Archer put Janella through a table off the top rope then brought him back in the ring for the three count.

Result: Lance Archer defeats Joey Janella via pinfall

Grade: C

FTR & The Young Bucks vs. The Lucha Bros. & The Butcher and The Blade

The Young Bucks and The Lucha Bros. start off the match. FTR then got in the match and took control. All four tag teams are showing off with exciting moves. The Young Bucks and Lucha Bros showed off the match and were dominant. The Lucha Bros were able to pull off the win. Butcher and the Blade & Lucha Brothers win by pinfall with a spike package piledriver from Lucha Brothers on Matt Jackson.

Result: The Lucha Bros. & The Butcher and the Blade defeated FTR & The Young Bucks

Grade: A

Nyla Rose vs. Kenzie Paige and KiLynn King

This match was boring as 2-on-1 handicaps are not fun or entertaining. Nyla Rose took on Paige and King that did not perform well. The team could not have any offense. Rose had a significant size and strength advantage. If Rose wants to compete for Shida’s championship and reinvent herself she should be going up against good competition.

Result: Nyla Rose defeats Kenzie Page and KiLynn King via pinfall

Grade: F

SCU vs. The Dark Order and Colt Cabana

The rivalry between these two teams carried on. However, Christopher Daniels of SCU and Colt Cabana of the Dark Order are friends. SCU took advantage of this match early on with frequent tags and double-team maneuvers. Brodie Lee is trying to coach his team while he is on the ring apron as Stu Grayson was getting destroyed in the ring. Colt Cabana came into the ring momentarily and raised the intensity. Cabana was already banged up before the match with a hematoma on his left side, but still brought the fight to Scorpio Sky and company. Daniels knocked all of the competition to the ground on the floor. Cabana then broke up a pin attempt from Daniels which caused tensions to rise between the friends. Lee grounded Daniels with the infamous discus lariat and then demanded Grayson to tag in Cabana for the win.

Result: The Dark Order and Colt Cabana defeat SCU via pinfall

Grade: B

Orange Cassidy vs. Chris Jericho

This feud has been going on for awhile. Santana & Ortiz were at ringside to help and motivate Le Champion. Orange Cassidy went right after Jericho with heavy strikes sending him into the guardrail. Jericho was then able to take advantage and hit Cassidy with the Liontamer. As Cassidy reached the ropes, Santana and Ortiz delivered a cheap shot to the lower back, courtesy of the madball, that allowed their fellow Inner Circle competitor to gain the upper hand. Jericho then countered a Superman Punch sending Cassidy to the ground. Jericho was able to use his veteran experience and pick Cassidy apart. He grabbed on the ropes after applying a submission but referee Aubrey Edwards kicked his hand away. Cassidy was able to fight off multiple punches and hit Jericho with a hurricanrana. Freshly squeezed took out Jericho, Santana, and Ortiz. Cassidy countered a Liontamer with a small package for a 2 count. Santana and Ortiz threw orange juice in the face of Cassidy. Best Friends came out to help Cassidy, but Cassidy was hit with the baseball bat for a nearfall. Jericho hit the Judas Effect for the win.

Result: Chris Jericho defeats Orange Cassidy via pinfall

This card was very solid for the most part with the exception of the Nyla Rose match. I would give this card a B-.

Thoughts on MLB Season

The MLB season has been cut short due to COVID-19. In what would have normally been a traditional 162 game season, is now a 60 game season. Instead of playing everybody in the MLB, you are now mostly playing the teams in their division.

I am obviously glad baseball is coming back as I am a baseball and Yankees fan. However, I am not a fan of this format. MLB owners and Commissioner Rob Manfred have worked endlessly to make sure the season happens while coming to an agreement with the MLBPA in terms of contract disputes.

I think the MLBPA is extremely ungrateful and selfish. People have lost lives, money, jobs, and become ill and some of these MLB players are only worried about getting their full contracts consisting of seven or eight figures. If they truly loved the sport they would want to come back no matter what.

Both sides were finally able to work out an agreement and the season will begin July 23rd.

In my opinion, whoever wins the World Series there will be an asterisk next to their name. Whatever team wins never played the 162 game season to truly earn it. Stars and legends like Mariano Rivera have mentioned that before as well.

Also, many of these players will be rusty and who knows what shape they will be in when the season comes back.

However, I am still excited to see what the season holds. Some major questions I have going into this season is how Cole and Betts can help their new teams and how many Astros will get hit this year as well as how many times.

Monday Night Raw Results 7/8/20

The show began with Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre continuing their feud heading up to Extreme Rules. What was interesting however, was Dolph brought out McIntyre’s former tag team partner and close friend who was recently released by WWE Heath Slater. Slater then proceeded to say how McIntyre stopped talking to him and was never there for him. Slater then shoved and slapped McIntyre and then challenged him to a match. Drew won the match in a few minutes and then both madeup and went after Ziggler.

Result: Drew McIntyre defeats Heath Slater via pinfall.

Grade: A (Promo) F (Match)

Sasha Banks vs. Kairi Sane

Sasha Banks and Bayley were in the ring talking about how they are the best WWE has to offer right now and how they run the division. Asuka came to the ring to address Banks and Bayley while bringing out her partner and returning Kairi Sane. Banks had control of the match in the beginning. The Pirate Princess then unloaded on Banks with numerous strikes. Banks and Boss both traded numerous strikes and submissions until Banks regained control and held the momentum. Result: Kairi Sane defeats Sasha Banks via disqualification

Grade: B

Kevin Owens and Rey Mysterio vs. Murphy and Seth Rollins

Before Owens brought out the Monday Night Messiah for an interview, Owens came to the ring and threw out every chair. Rollins already started to flame Owens as he asked how his ankle was after their encounter at WrestleMania. Owens gave Rollins the t-shirt he wore when he beat Rollins at Mania. Rollins threw the shirt out of the ring and challenged Mysterio to a match at Extreme Rules. Rollins offered Owens to join him. Owens said no and was Mysterio’s partner after Aleister Black was found backstage attacked. Murphy went after Owens but Mysterio helped. Mysterio and Murphy showed off an exciting exchange of blows. Rollins went up to Dominik and attempted to rake the eyes before Mysterio got involved. Mysterio was able to pick up the win for his team.

Result: Kevin Owens and Rey Mysterio defeat Seth Rollins and Murphy via pinfall.

Grade: B+

MVP and Bobby Lashley vs. Cedric Alexander and Ricochet

MVP and Lashley came out to the ring. MVP had a new US Title that he claimed would be his after he beats Apollo Crews at Extreme Rules. Ricochet and Cedric Alexander had enough and came to the ring. The high-flyers sent them out of the ring and then went to commercial break. MVP was fighting in a suit which was very interesting and unusual. Lashley was doing most of the work and demolishing Alexander until he was able to make a tag to the One and Only for a double team move. Lashley was eventually able to hit the spear on Ricochet for the win.

Result: MVP and Bobby Lashley defeat Cedric Alexander and Ricochet via pinfall.

Grade: C

The Viking Raiders and Big Show vs. Randy Orton, Andrade and Angel Garza

Big Show started off for his team against while Angel Garza started off on the opposition. He tried to take down Big Show by going after the legs but it did not work. Big Show then cornered Garza and used his infamous chops. The Raiders tagged in frequently and to punish Garza. Andrade tagged in but was then immediately punched by Ivar. Garza and Andrade continued to go at it verbally back and forth until Orton set them straight. After a commercial break, the heels took full control of the match. Orton came in the match before he brought Garza back in, a few seconds later. Orton almost hit Big Show with an RKO. Orton eventually hit Erik with an RKO to end the match.

Result: Andrade, Angel Garza, and Randy Orton defeat Big Show and The Viking Raiders via pinfall

Grade: C

Billie Kay vs. Ruby Riott

Ruby Riott had a brief exchange with the IIconics backstage before the match. Riott was able to land a few hits before Kay took her down. Kay had the clear size and strength advantage. Riott was able to escape a submission and take advantage. Royce distracted Riott allowing Kay to hit the seated spinebuster for the win.

Result: Billie Kay defeats Ruby Riott via pinfall

Grade: D+

Bayley vs. Asuka

Nikki Cross joined the commentary table and was extremely energetic. Both champions started out with heavy blows. Asuka got the first takedown but Bayley hit Asuka with a running knee. Bayley knocked off Cross’s headset causing security to get involved. Asuka was in control until Bayley went after the head. Bayley started to become more confident and talk trash. The Empress used her strong striking abilities to regain control. Sasha Banks helped Bayley cheat but then Asuka kicked out. Cross appeared in the crowd to distract Bayley. Sane stopped Banks from interfering further as Asuka picked up the win.

Result: Asuka defeated Bayley via pinfall

Grade: A

Analysis: This show was average. With the exception of the main event, there was not much to be excited about. I would give this weeks episode of Raw a B-.

Expectations for the 2020-2021 Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been a struggling franchise as of late. The Buccaneers had high hopes of their future when they drafted Jameis Winston #1 overall in 2015. However, Winston was not able to pan out and succeed in the NFL. The Buccaneers brought in offensive minded Bruce Arians as head coach to help Winston and better coach this team. Winston was able to lead the league in passing yards as he threw for 5,109 yards and was second in the league with 33 touchdowns thrown. However, he also led the league in most interceptions with 30. Seven of those 30 interceptions were pick 6’s. Winston was the first quarterback in NFL history to throw at least 30 touchdowns and 30 interceptions.

In the ensuing offseason, the Buccaneers moved on from Winston and were able to win the Tom Brady sweepstakes. They also traded for former star tight end Rob Gronkowski. The Buccaneers have a lot of faith in their team next year and rightfully so.

Tom Brady is arguably the greatest player of all time and has six Super Bowl rings. Rob Gronkowski was one of the best and most dominant tight ends in the 2010s era. The Buccaneers also have stud wide receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. They also drafted offensive lineman Tristan Wirfs to protect Brady and also have good offensive lineman Demar Dotson and Ali Marpet. Alongside Gronk, the Buccaneers also have good tight ends in OJ Howard and Cameron Brate.

On the defensive side the Bucs are just as talented. They have an amazing linebacker core in future star Devin White, Lavonte David, Shaquil Barrett, and Jason Pierre-Paul. They also good defensive tackles in Vita Vea and Ndamukong Suh. In efforts to upgrade their secondary they also drafted Antoine Winfield Jr. who looks like he can be a good player.

After looking at the Bucs roster and schedule, I think they are poised to be a very good team next year. However, the Bucs also have to play the Saints twice who are also a dominant team. Some other games that are worthy of watching are the Bucs against the Vikings, Packers, Chiefs, and Rams. If I had to make a prediction I think the Bucs will go 12-4 or 13-3. I still think the Saints will win the division but it will be very close. The NFC South is one of the most competitive divisions in football. The Buccaneers and the Saints are two dominant teams that I would consider Super Bowl contenders. The Panthers are a rebuilding team but have practically a brand new defense as they drafted all defensive players and still have powerhouse Christian McCaffrey who can hurt you through the ground or through the air. The Falcons are also a solid team who was in the Super Bowl a few years where they should have won instead of blowing a 28-3 lead against the Patriots.
