Smackdown Results with Analysis 7/24/20

Alexa Bliss vs. Nikki Cross

This situation was weird as Nikki Cross and Alexa Bliss are a tag team and good friends. However, Cross demanded a match against Bayley for the championship. Bayley said only if she can defeat her tag team partner Alexa Bliss. Cross then heated in the moment shoved Bliss to the ground and headed towards the ring before commercial. The match started out as a stalemate with many counters and reversals early with nobody gaining the upper hand. Cross was able to get fired up and then hit Bliss with a few moves. The two then took out Bayley and Banks at ringside. Bliss took control of the match with the double knees to the injured ribs of Cross. Bliss expressed concern of her friend and tag team partner and Cross capitalized and rolled her up for the three. This was a very weird angle but I assume we will see more between these two teams.

Results: Nikki Cross defeats Alexa Bliss via pinfall

Grade: C

Matt Riddle vs. Tony Nese

It has been a while since I have seen Tony Nese on the main roster. Riddle tossed Nese around with a gut-wrench suplex, a running senton to the back, and finishing off Nese with the Bro Derek. After the match, Riddle grabbed the mic and called out King Corbin. There was not much action in the match however I enjoyed the promo between Riddle and Corbin and I am glad to see Nese wrestling again.

Results: Matt Riddle defeats Tony Nese via pinfall

Grade: B-

Gran Metalik vs. Lince Dorado vs. Shorty G vs. Drew Gulak in a Fatal-4 Way #1 Contenders Match

Intercontinental Champion AJ Styles joined Michael Cole and Corey Graves at ringside for this match. Styles wanted to see who would be his next challenger. It was good to see guys I normally would not see such as Shorty G, Gran Metalik, and Lince Dorado in action. Shorty G unloaded on the competition. The 2012 Olympian tossed the opposition around with his arsenal of suplexes. Gulak looked for the Gulock, however Shorty G reversed it and put Gulak in the Ankle Lock. Dorado sent Gulak to the floor with a move off the top rope. There was non-stop action all over the place. Shorty G delivered a super German Suplex to Dorado and Gran Metalik came from out of nowhere to pick up the win. After the match, Styles came to the ring and showed disrespect towards Metalik.

Results: Gran Metalik defeats Shorty G, Drew Gulak, and Lince Dorado to become the #1 Contender of the Intercontinental Championship

Grade: A

Jeff Hardy vs Sheamus in a Bar Fight

This heated and grueling feud between Jeff Hardy and Sheamus continues in a bar fight. These two strongly dislike each other and have embarrassed each other to the max. These two square off in the main event. Sheamus had control of the match as it started out as a brawl until Hardy ran across the bar taking him out. Sheamus then took the fight to the bathroom and shoved Hardy’s face into a urinal humiliating him once again. Sheamus caught Hardy and shoved him into a wall before commercial. Hardy then took advantage after commercial and connected with the Twist of Fate. Hardy then climbed a ladder until the bartender interfered. Hardy put the bartender through a table allowing Sheamus to recuperate. Hardy climbed the ladder once again and hit Sheamus with a Swanton Bomb for the win.

Results: Jeff Hardy defeats Sheamus via pinfall

Grade: A+

Analysis: This weeks episode of Smackdown was alright. However, I enjoyed how they brought up people who do not usually wrestle adding variety and giving other wrestlers a chance. Also, my favorite match of the night was easily the main event. I would give this show a B+.

Baseball World Series Predictions

The MLB season had to be delayed due to COVID-19. We would normally see Opening Day in April however, Opening Day this year was July 24th as we saw the New York Yankees defeat the Washington Nationals in a game that only lasted five innings due to a rain delay and the Los Angeles Dodgers defeat the San Francisco Giants. MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred made many rules to ensure the baseball season can still happen. The National League will now have a Designated Hitter, extra inning games will now start with a runner on second, and players will have to be tested frequently. Also the MLB season will now be 60 games with 40 against your division and 20 against your region of the opposite league. So now instead of getting 162 games we will now see 162 games. Also the MLB expanded the playoffs to 16 teams.

AL Winner: New York Yankees

I strongly believe the Yankees will make it to the World Series. It has been over a decade since they went last to the World Series. They also have one of the most explosive and complete rosters even without Domingo German and Luis Severino. The Yankees rolled out the red carpet for marquee ace Gerrit Cole. The Yankees will come out of the gates strong as they want vengeance for having to deal with the Astros and Red Sox cheating scandals. The Yankees are dominant at pretty much every position. They are also very well-rounded in contact, speed, power, and solid pitching. Expect the Yankees to go far this year.

NL Winner: Los Angeles Dodgers

I feel the Dodgers will make it to the World Series as well. They also had a very good offseason as they acquired David Price and Mookie Betts in a trade with the Boston Red Sox. The Dodgers also have solid players in Corey Seager, Clayton Kershaw, Alex Wood, Justin Turner, Max Muncy, and many more. Dodgers fans are finally hoping they can not only make it to the World Series but finally win. The Yankees also have a lot of depth on the bench that would start for most teams such as Miguel Andujar, Clint Frazier, and Mike Ford.

World Series Winner: New York Yankees in 6 games

I believe the New York Yankees will win the World Series this year. For the most part and as of now the Yankees are healthy with lots of loaded talent and depth. Also, the Yankees did not lose any major pieces. The Yankees lost Dellin Betances to the Mets but the Yankees bullpen will be fine and they also lost Didi Gregorius which sucks but there was not much room for him anyways with DJ Lemahieu and Gleyber Torres.

AEW Dynamite Results with Analysis 7/22/20

Cody vs. Eddie Kingston for the TNT Championship in a No Disqualification Match

Eddie Kingston is making his AEW Dynamite debut. He accepted Cody’s open challenge for The American Nightmare’s championship. Kingston went right after Cody with strong punches. Cody hit Kingston with the Disaster Kick as Kingston left the ring. Cody then took the fight outside by jumping between the ropes. Kingston used Cody’s own belt as a weapon. Cody flips Kingston over the exposed concrete at ringside. Kingston sent Cody back first into a pile of thumbtacks with a powerbomb. Cody locked in the Figure Four and Kingston tapped.

Results: Cody defeats Eddie Kingston to retain his TNT Championship via submission

Grade: A+

MJF vs. Griff Garrison

Griff Garrison is also making his AEW Dynamite debut. However, he is 0-3 on AEW Dark. MJF is accompanied by Wardlow. MJF cut a very good promo on Garrison before striking him with the microphone. MJF had control over this match and never lost it through the first commercial break. We returned with the two outside of the ring and then MJF grabbed a microphone and started taunting Griff during the match. Garrison poked the microphone into MJF’s eye and then used a rollup for a near fall. MJF hit the Heat Seeker for the win.

Results: MJF defeats Griff Garrison via pinfall

Grade: B

The Young Bucks vs. The Butcher and The Blade in a Falls Count Anywhere Match

The match began in the kitchen area. We saw a lot of entertaining and unique moves such as using some of the kitchen equipment. Then the fight was taken into the concourse area. The Jackson’s were sent inside a truck and on the side of the same truck. The Blade was sent into a concessions stand. The Young Bucks both super kicked The Blade as he fell and went up the escalator. The match returned from commercial break as The Young Bucks and Butcher were at ringside. Nick and Matt Jackson put both opponents through a table in order to get the win.

Results: The Young Bucks defeat The Butcher and The Blade via pinfall

Grade: A

Diamante vs. Ivelisse

Ivelisse was making her AEW debut as well. The former Tough Enough contestant attacked Diamante before the bell but lost her momentum shorty after. Most of the action was strikes as opposed to grapples, submissions, or high-flying moves. Diamante was able to get the win continuing her winning streak.

Results: Diamante defeats Ivelisse via pinfall

Grade: F

Five vs. Hangman Page

Hangman Page hit Five with a strong punch. Page then hit Five with some strong slaps to the chest. Five used his agility to temporarily create some separation. Page used his size and strength to his advantage. Other members of the Dark Order came out to watch the match right before commercial. Five was able to get a series of shots in before being clotheslined. Page was outnumbered 5-1 but still picked up the win and challenged The Dark Order. Brodie Lee and Colt Cabana also came out to aid The Dark Order. After Page denied Brodie Lee’s invitation to the Dark Order he was attacked by the five members. FTR ran to the aid of Hangman Page and helped him with Kenny Omega following him.

Results: Hangman Page defeats Five via pinfall

Grade: D

Jungle Express vs. Inner Circle

Jericho and Jungle Boy started out the match for their respected teams. Jericho went right after Jungle Boy. However, Jungle Boy was able to use his speed and agility and dropped Jericho with a dropkick. Luchasaurus and Jake Hager both entered the ring where both big men traded strikes. Hager locked in an ankle lock until Luchasaurus forced the rope break. Jericho went after the match and went after Luchasaurus’s legs. Right before commercial break, Jericho punched Marko Stunt in the face. Jericho has had full advantage of Jungle Boy. Santana and Ortiz were at ringside. While Aubrey Edwards was dealing with them, Stunt returned and hit Jericho with a drop kick off the top rope. Jericho and Hager picked up the win and after the match we saw Sammy Guevara return to help the attack. However, Best Friends came out and The Inner Circle retreated.

Results: The Inner Circle defeats the Jurassic Express via pinfall

Grade: A-

Analysis: This card featured some of the best wrestling I’ve seen in months. However, I did not like the women’s match and the Hangman Page match. I would give this card a B-.

Los Angeles Lakers All-Time Roster

The Los Angeles Lakers are one of the best NBA Franchises in NBA History. They have the second most championships of all-time with 16. They are in a big market as they play at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. The Lakers have had many dominant players in the franchise and we will look at most of them.

PG: Magic Johnson

Magic Johnson played 13 seasons with the Lakers. In that time he averaged 19.5 PPG, 7.2 RPG, and 11.2 APG. Johnson also won 5 Championships with the Lakers. He is of the point guard of all-time. Johnson holds many records and won the MVP 3 times in his career.

SG: Kobe Bryant

RIP to one of my favorite players of all-time growing up. Kobe played all 20 seasons with the Lakers and was dominant. He averaged 25.0 PPG, 5.2 RPG, and 4.7 APG. Kobe also won 5 NBA Championships. In my opinion #8 and #24 should be retired but the Lakers may only retire one number. Bryant was a 15-time All-NBA Selection and was the youngest player to appear in an all-star game and oldest to score 60 points in a game.

SF: Elgin Baylor

Elgin Baylor also spent his whole career with the Lakers which ended up being 14 seasons. Baylor averaged 27.4 PPG, 13.5 RPG, and 4.3 APG. Somehow Elgin Baylor and his Lakers never won a championship.

PF: Pau Gasol

In Gasol’s seven seasons with the Lakers he was able to accomplish a lot. He averaged 17.7 PPG, 9.9 RPG, and 3.5 APG while adding two NBA Championships.

C: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

Kareem is one of the best centers to ever play the game. In his 14 seasons with the Lakers he averaged 22.1 PPG, 9.4 RPG, and 3.3 APG. Five of his sic NBA Championships came from the Lakers. As a Laker he also won MVP three times. He has the most points in NBA History due to his infamous skyhook that is still used today.

6th Man: Jerry West

West played all 14 seasons with the Lakers. He played both PG and SG. He averaged 27.0 PPG, 5.8 RPG, and 6.7 APG. He won one NBA Championship in his career. As an executive he won eight Championships. West is the current logo of the NBA.

7th Man: Shaquille O’Neal

Shaq played eight of his nineteen seasons with the Lakers. He averaged 27.0 PPG, 12.5 RPG, and 2.4 APG. Shaq is one of the most dominant players of all-time. Nobody could match up against him physically as he was also known for shattering backboards. Three out of Shaq’s four rings came with the Lakers. He has also won MVP once and Finals MVP three times.

8th Man: George Mikan

Mikan played all seven seasons with the Lakers. He averaged 23.1 PPG, 13.4 RPG, and 2.8 APG. Mikan also won five Championships. He was so dominant the NBA had to add a shot clock and goaltending to try and neutralize him.

9th Man: Wilt Chamberlain

Wilt Chamberlain played five seasons with the Lakers. In those five seasons he averaged 17.7 PPG, 19.2 RPG, and 4.3 APG. One of his two rings came with the Lakers. In four of his five seasons with the Lake Show he led the league in rebounds.

10th Man: James Worthy

James Worthy played all twelve seasons with the Lakers. In those twelve seasons he averaged 17.6 PPG, 5.1 RPG, and 3.0 APG. He also won 3 NBA Championships. Worthy was also an all-star for seven straight seasons.

11th Man: LeBron James

Depending on who you ask, some people think LeBron should be higher on this list or not at all. However, LeBron is a top-2 player of all-time and he can easily accomplish a lot with the Lakers. In his two seasons with the Lakers he averaged 26.5 PPG, 8.2 RPG, and 9.5 APG. The Lakers are serious contenders to win the Finals this year due to the dynamic duo of LeBron and Anthony Davis.

12th Man: Gail Goodrich

Gail Goodrich also played both PG and SG for the Lakers. He spent nine seasons with the organization averaging 19.0 PPG, 3.0 RPG, 4.2 APG. He also won one NBA Championship in 1972. The year they won the Finals he led his team in scoring.

Head Coach: Phil Jackson

Phil Jackson is one of the best coaches of all-time. He had a career record of 1,640 wins, and 1,155 losses. He coached the Lakers for 11 of his 20 seasons. With the Lakers he went 902-610. He won 11 NBA Championships as a coach with five of them being from the Lakers. He also won 118 playoff games as a member of the Lakers which is second all-time.

Raw Results and Analysis 7/20/20

Seth Rollins vs. Aleister Black

Rollins came to the ring and addressed the WWE Universe about his grueling match at Extreme Rules. He blamed the WWE Universe for what he did. Aleister Black then came to the ring to defend Mysterio thus setting up a match. Black controlled most of the match due to Rollins being tired from his match the night before. Black hit a Black Mass on Rollins but Murphy got involved and took one of his own allowing Rollins to recuperate. Rollins used that distraction to hit Black with numerous superkicks setting up for the Stomp. After Rollins picked up the win, him and Murphy attacked Black injuring his left hand.

Results: Seth Rollins defeats Aleister Black via pinfall

Grade: A-

Bobby Lashley, MVP, Shelton Benjamin vs. Cedric Alexander, Ricochet, Mustafa Ali

R-Truth insulted Bobby Lashley and MVP backstage until Shelton Benjamin came from behind and attacked R-Truth to become the new 24/7 Champion. Benjamin joined their faction. Since Apollo Crews is still injured, Alexander and Ricochet asked Ali to be their partner. This match was power vs speed and high-flying. The faces in this match are some of the best high-flyers WWE has to offer. The heels controlled most of the match as they outmuscled the opposition and forced them into the corner. Ali finally got in the match and decimated MVP. Ali hit a corner neckbreaker and a 450 Splash for the win.

Results: Mustafa Ali, Ricochet, and Cedric Alexander defeat MVP, Bobby Lashley, and Shelton Benjamin via pinfall

Grade: A

Ruby Riott vs. Peyton Royce

This match came to place after Peyton Royce got involved with Bianca Belair backstage. Ruby Riott got involved as well as Billie Kay. The match was competitive however, Riott had the upper hand. Riott used the Riott Kick for the win. There was not too much action in the match.

Results: Ruby Riott defeats Peyton Royce via pinfall

Grade: D

The Street Profits vs. Andrade and Angel Garza

The Street Profits got revenge and attacked Vega’s team backstage. Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins came out hot with high intensity. Ford’s intensity got the best of him at one point as he made a mistake that the heels capitalized on. They kept him isolated in the corner and went after the legs taking away Ford’s agility. Dawkins finally was able to get in and the match completely changed from there. Ford got back in the match and hit a rotating frog splash on Garza for the win. Zelina Vega yelled at her clients even though they said they have no problems.

Results: The Street Profits defeat Andrade and Angel Garza via pinfall

Grade: B-

Bayley vs. Kairi Sane

Bayley and Sasha Banks came to the ring bragging about how they run the Women’s Division and have every title on the main roster. Bayley was hyping Banks up after her “victory” at Extreme Rules. Stephanie McMahon appeared on the titantron saying Banks is not the champion but she can earn her shot next week on Raw. Bayley went after Sane early and belittled Sane as Bayley was very vocal during the match. Sane came back with an impressive kicks. She even hit the InSane Elbow however, she appeared to hurt her elbow when she landed. Therefore, Bayley was able to escape. Bayley hit her own elbow off the top rope but Sane rolled her up for three.

Results: Kairi Sane defeats Bayley via pinfall

Grade: B-

Unsactioned: Randy Orton vs. Big Show

Andrade and Angel Garza got involved before The Viking Raiders got involved to make the save and even the playing field. Show took over the match, throwing Orton like a rag doll. The World’s Largest Athlete made a mistake as Orton capitalized and put Show through a table. The Viper sized up Show and hit him with an RKO. Show surprisingly kicked out at two. A pissed Orton hit Show with a top rope draping DDT, a second RKO, and a punt to finish Show.

Results: Randy Orton defeats Big Show via pinfall

Grade: A

Analysis: This was a well-booked show especially after a PPV. I enjoyed every match except the Riott-Royce Match. I would give this weeks episode of Raw a B.

Extreme Rules Results and Analysis 7/19/20

Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro vs. The New Day in a Tables Match for the Smackdown Tag Team Championships

I enjoyed how WWE began the night with a championship match. Big E and Kofi went right after Cesaro and Nakamura. The heels were able to takeover the match once taking the champs to the corner. Kofi hit an impressive dropkick to Cesaro with his head bouncing off the steel steps. Nakamura hit Kofi with a table but it wasn’t enough to break the table. Big E and Kofi set up two tables stacked on top of each other. Kofi started to trash talk his opponents. Cesaro powerslammed Kofi through both tables to win the championships.

Results: Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro defeat The New Day to win the Smackdown Tag Team Championships

Grade: B+

Nikki Cross vs. Bayley for the Smackdown Women’s Championship

Nikki Cross was accompanied by Alexa Bliss while Bayley was accompanied by Sasha Banks. Bayley started off controlling the match. It almost looked like Cross lost confidence in herself. Cross regained composure and slapped Bayley of her own and got a few moves in. She pinned Bayley and already almost got the three count. Cross hit Bayley with two cross bodies off the top rope. Bayley hit Cross with a Bayley-to-Belly but kicked out. Bayley went face first into the middle turnbuckle which was the change of momentum Cross needed. She then hit a crossbreaker on the outside of the ring. Sasha Banks gave Bayley the Boss ring that she wears on her hand. As Banks got on the top rope, Bayley used it on Cross. Cross showed a valiant effort and performed better than expected.

Results: Bayley defeated Nikki Cross to retain the Smackdown Women’s Championship via pinfall

Grade: A-

Seth Rollins vs. Rey Mysterio in an Eye-for-an-Eye Match

Rey Mysterio came from behind and went after Rollins early. However, Rollins was able to quickly take advantage again. Both wrestlers used eye gages often. Mysterio took the pliers and brought out a table. Mysterio tried to hit Rollins with steel but Rollins got out of the way and hit Mysterio with a kendo stick. The Monday Night Messiah tried to rip and tear Mysterio’s left eye. Rollins went with the same tactic he used last time with the steel steps and he succeeded. This match was very weird and messed up. After seeing Mysterio’s face, Rollins threw up at ringside. This match was sick and twisted but I was at least hoping Mysterio can get vengeance. Hopefully, Mysterio can heal soon.

Results: Seth Rollins defeats Rey Mysterio

Grade: B-

Sasha Banks vs. Asuka for the Raw Women’s Championship

Sasha Banks looks to defeat Asuka and also have dos straps. If this happens Bayley and Sasha Banks truly would be running the Women’s Division as they would have every Women’s Title on the main roster. Asuka was accompanied by Kairi Sane and Sasha Banks was accompanied by Bayley. The match began with both wrestlers being tied up until they each took each other to the corner. Banks was able to reverse a move and lock in the Bank Statement. Banks hit the double knees on Asuka. Both wrestlers are competing with back-and-forth moves. Banks sent the champ into the plexiglass with a powerbomb. Banks then hit Asuka with a 450 Splash for a two count. Banks wasted no time then locking in the Bank Statement until Asuka grabbed the rope. As Banks started to feel herself and started talking trash Asuka used her strong striking abilities to gain momentum. Bayley tried to distract the ref but Kairi Sane pulled Bayley down and they brawled until Bayley took her out. Bayley smartly gave the ref a title so the ref was distracted and never saw Banks tap out to the Asuka lock. Asuka used the green mist to the ref as Banks ducked. Bayley once again took advantage and used the title. Bayley took the referee shirt and made the three count.

Results: Sasha Banks defeats Asuka to win the Raw Women’s Championship via pinfall

Grade: A

Dolph Ziggler vs. Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship in an Extreme Rules Match

Dolph Ziggler picked the rules and they are heavily in his favor. For Ziggler it is an Extreme Rules match but McIntyre must obey the rules of a normal sanctioned match. Also, if McIntyre gets counted out or disqualified Ziggler becomes champion. Ziggler went under the ring looking for a weapon to use early but McIntyre stopped him in his tracks. Ziggler set up a table but McIntyre was able to take advantage. Ziggler used a low blow which is perfectly legal for his match. He then used a steel chair and repeatedly hit McIntyre in the back with the chair. McIntyre lost his breath for a few moments as the legs of a chair went into his throat. Ziggler hit the Famouser outside the ring but Drew made it back to the ring at a count of eight. Ziggler locked in a sleeper hold and grabbed the ropes but there is no rope break for this type of match. Dolph put McIntyre through a table with an elbow drop off the top rope. McIntyre hit Ziggler with the Claymore before Ziggler could hit the Superkick.

Results: Drew McIntyre defeats Dolph Ziggler via pinfall

Grade: C

Bray Wyatt vs. Braun Strowman in a Swamp Match for the WWE Universal Championship

I was very excited for this Main Event. However, I feel like a Swamp Match is a little weird for a Championship Match. Bray Wyatt was in his rocking chair as he waited for Braun Strowman to pull up in his truck. As the lights go out, Wyatt is no longer in his chair and in anger Strowman broke the chair. Random guys attacked Strowman while he was in the woods until someone hit Strowman with a shovel. There was often clips of the Firefly Fun House and Strowman’s time as a member of the Wyatt family. At times, it was often confusing and hard to follow. Strowman regained consciousness as he was tied up and heard Wyatt’s music with the lantern. Wyatt even used Strowman’s former alliance with Alexa Bliss as more mind games. Strowman slammed Wyatt into a boat and sent him across the swamp. However, the boat came back but Bray was nowhere to be found. Strowman got up and kicked Wyatt into the water but Wyatt dragged down Strowman with him. However, The Fiend was able to come up out of the water.

Results: This match ended in a no-contest therefore Strowman retains

Grade: F

This PPV was very good except for the Main Event. It was a lot like the WrestleMania Match between The Fiend and John Cena that I did not enjoy as well. I would still give Extreme Rules a B-.

NHL Stanley Cup Predictions

Due to the Coronavirus, the NHL Regular Season had to end early and was condensed. The NHL decided to take 24 of the 31 teams to the playoffs in a bracket format. The playoffs will start Saturday August 1st. There are a lot of good teams and good players that will be competing to host the Stanley Cup. A lot of players could be rusty since they have not played in months or the rest is what they needed. As a hockey fan and Penguins fan I cannot wait to watch.

Eastern Conference Champions: Tampa Bay Lightning

Picking a winner from the dominant Eastern Conference was very difficult for me. There were many strong and dominant teams I considered such as the Boston Bruins, Washington Capitals, and Pittsburgh Penguins. I did not pick the Boston Bruins because even though they were the best team and have a dominant roster, they were the only team with at least 100 points and the President’s Trophy Winner usually never wins the Stanley Cup. I did not pick the Washington Capitals because they are not a fast enough team like they used to be. Even though they have snipers in Alex Ovechkin and Ilya Kovalchuk, they do not have the speed that is crucial in the playoffs. I also did not pick the Penguins for a few reasons. One reason is Matt Murray is inconsistent. Even though he is most likely going to be the backup goalie, there is a chance he could start as head coach Mike Sullivan has not given any word yet as who will be the starting netminder. Also, Jake Guentzel is finally coming back and he is a player the Penguins need however, he will experience some rust as he has not played in over five months. The Tampa Bay Lightning are also one of the best teams from top to bottom. Andrei Vasilevskiy is one of the best goalies in the league. They also have a much improved defensive core being led by Victor Hedman. The team captain and superstar Steven Stamkos still wants his first ring and will give it his all to win as his window is closing soon.

Western Conference Standings: Vegas Golden Knights

I feel like the Vegas Golden Knights will come out of the West and make it to the Stanley Cup. They won the Pacific Division and was third in the West. They also ended the season on a two game win streak and finished their last 10 games 8-2. Anybody that watches hockey understands that success in the playoffs is determined off of the teams momentum and if they are on a streak. Well, Vegas has both. The Golden Knights have an elite goaltending core in Marc-Andre Fleury and Robin Lehner. Vegas also has a lot of depth that has been a key part of their success. Vegas does not have a superstar skater but they have a lot of solid players that contribute.

Stanley Cup Finals Champion: Tampa Bay Lightning

I think the Tampa Bay Lightning will win the Stanley Cup in 6 games. The Lightning will win their second cup in franchise history. More importantly Steven Stamkos will finally get the Stanley Cup he deserves. The Lightning will take advantage of the Golden Knights not having a superstar. The Lightning have superstars as well as a more balanced lineup. Also, Vasilevskiy has been the best goalie in the league this year and will outplay Fleury.

Friday Night Smackdown Results with Analysis 7/17/20

Big E vs. Cesaro

In the first match of the evening we saw Big E take on Cesaro. The New Day and Cesaro and Nakamura’s feud continues to escalate as we get closer to Extreme Rules. It was announced, that the winner of this match would get to pick the stipulation for the Tag Team Championship match at Extreme Rules. The two behemoths took the match out of the ring. Big E crushed Cesaro against the steel steps with a running shoulder. He then tried to replicate it in the ring but the Swiss Superman sidestepped him and threw E into the ring post. Both werestlers used their signature maneuver. After the commercial break, Cesaro took advantage. Nakamura helped Cesaro take advantage of the match where he hit E with a Neutralizer for the win. The team then got the tables and put E through one. Fans can expect we will see a tables match on Sunday.

Result: Cesaro defeats Big E via pinfall

Grade: A-

Asuka and Nikki Cross vs. Bayley and Sasha Banks

After a segment of “A Moment with Bliss” got out of hand, we saw this tag team match take place. Cross took control of the match with numerous kicks to Bayley. Bayley used some dirty tactics to regain control of the match. Cross was then double-teamed by Banks and Bayley for a few minutes. Bayley used a leverage pin on Cross by using the ropes for the win.

Result: Sasha Banks and Bayley defeat Asuka and Nikki Cross via pinfall

Grade: C-

John Morrison vs. Braun Strowman

Wyatt gave the WWE Universe a quick trailer of the swamp match for Sunday before Strowman came to the ring for his match. He then delivered a quick promo about how he is going to face his fears and defeat Wyatt. As soon as the match started, he went right after Morrison and threw him like a rag doll. In less than three minutes he defeated Morrison with a running powerslam. Even though both wrestlers are very talented, they should not be competing for three minutes especially days before a championship match.

Result: Braun Strowman defeats John Morrison via pinfall

Grade: F

Lacey Evans vs. Naomi

Lacey Evans tried to take down Naomi with a drop toe hold, but Naomi sent Evans into the corner. The Sassy Southern Belle regained control by hitting The Queen of Glow with an elbow. Evans beat Naomi with the Women’s Right. This match was also very short with not much action to it. These wrestlers usually have better matches and I was disappointed.

Results: Lacey Evans defeats Naomi via pinfall

Grade: F

AJ Styles vs. Matt Riddle for the Intercontinental Title

This match started off with back-and-forth action of basic lockups and frequent reversals. Styles then used a few quick strikes to take advantage. Riddle showed off his strength from his MMA background and hit Styles with two gutwrench suplexes in a row. The Phenomenal One went after Riddle’s legs to set up the Calf Crusher. Styles had control for most of the match including two commercial breaks until Riddle hit a German Suplex out of nowhere. Riddle countered a Phenomenal Forearm, but could not hit a finisher of his own. Styles used his veteran experience and went back to the Calf Crusher. Riddle reversed it into a submission of his own. AJ was then able to pick up the win. In what we thought was a sign of respect and sportsmanship from Styles by offering a handshake to Riddle was really a elaborate setup as Corbin attacked Riddle from behind.

Result: AJ Styles defeats Matt Riddle to retain his Intercontinental Championship

Grade: A

Analysis: I was not impressed with this weeks episode of Smackdown. The goal of the last show before a Pay-Per-View is to get the crowd/viewers hyped. I was not hyped after watching this show. I only enjoyed the first and last match. That is not proper booking. A solid show is booked well throughout all cards. I would give this show a C.

All-Time Knicks Roster

The New York Knicks have recently been one of the worst and most laughable teams in the NBA. The last time they made the playoffs was in 2013. The last time the Knicks lost less than 50 games was in 2013. The Knicks have won 2 NBA Finals Championships in 1970 and 1973. However, an all-time Knicks roster is not as bad as most people think it would be.

PG: Walt “Clyde” Frazier

Walt is the best PG in Knicks History and debatably a top-5 player in Knicks history. Frazier played 10 years donning the Blue and Orange. He was a crucial part in leading the Knicks to their only Championships. As a Knick he averaged 19.3 PPG, 6.1 RPG, and 6.3 APG. He was a force to be reckoned with on both sides of the ball. For six straight seasons he was on the All-NBA team and All-Defensive team.

SG: Earl Monroe

In Monroe’s nine seasons with the Knicks he was a very effective player. He averaged 16.2 PPG, 2.6 RPG, 3.5 APG. Him and Frazier is one of the best backcourts in NBA. In his first full season with the Knicks he was able to win a Championship.

SF: Carmelo Anthony

Carmelo Anthony is my favorite Knick of all-time. I grew up watching him and he has been one of my favorite players. In his seven years with the Knicks he averaged 24.7 PPG, 7.0 RPG, 3.2 APG. Melo made the playoffs a few times but not much else. The Knicks wasted his talent and prime by never surrounding him with any talent with the exception of his last couple years. Melo was the sole reason people would want to go to MSG. One day his number will be hanging in the rafters of Madison Square Garden.

PF: Harry Gallatin

Gallatin played with the Knicks for nine seasons. In those nine years he averaged 12.7 PPG, 12.1 RPG, 1.8 APG. There was only one season where he was not a Knick which also shows he was very loyal to the organization. Averaging a double-double is very impressive. Gallatin was a tough and physical player. He is tied for the shortest player of all-time to lead the league in rebounds as he is 6’6. In his last eight seasons he did not miss one game showing his durability. He even coached the Knicks in the mid 1960s.

C: Patrick Ewing

Patrick Ewing is probably the best Knick of all-time or at least in my opinion he is. He played for the Knicks for 15 of his 17 year career. As a Knick he averaged, 22.8 PPG, 10.4 RPG, 2.0 APG. He easily would have won a championship if he never had to constantly run into Jordan’s Bulls and Miller’s Pacers. The one time he made it to the finals they lost to Hakeem’s Rockets. He is in the Hall-of-Fame and a top-50 player of all-time.

6th Man: Willis Reed

Reed played his whole ten year career with the Knicks. In his career he averaged, 18.7 PPG, 12.9 RPG, 1.8 APG. He was on the team both years the Knicks won the Championship. Reed is the only Knicks player to win MVP and Finals MVP. He always came off the bench because he was never able to outplay Ewing. Multiple injuries caused Reed to retire at 31. If he was never plagued by injuries him and the Knicks would be much more successful. In Game 7 of the NBA Finals, Reed limped out of the locker room to play through a torn muscle showing his toughness and helping deliver the franchise’s first Finals trophy.

7th Man: Carl Braun

Carl Braun was also a Knick for most of his career. In his twelve seasons with the Knicks he averaged 14.1 PPG, 3.6 RPG, 3.8 APG. He joined the Knicks in their second season as a franchise. He also served two years in the military from 1950 to 1952 after playing for three seasons. He rejoined the team, making the All-star team five straight years as a PG and SG.

8th Man: Charles Oakley

In his ten seasons with the Knicks he averaged 10.4 PPG, 10.0 RPG, 2.3 APG. He only made it to the All-Star game once in his career. However, he took on the role as an enforcer which was crucial in his era.

9th-Man: Allan Houston

Allan Houston was a good player and a good shooter. However, he was not the best player on his team. In his nine year tenure with the Knicks he averaged 18.5 PPG, 3.1 RPG, 2.5 APG. He never played in a playoff game after his big $100 million dollar contract in 2001. He is known for hitting a game-winner against former Knicks coach Pat Riley and his Miami Heat. Houston’s clutch shot with 0.8 seconds left cemented the Knicks as the second team of all-time for an 8-seed to knock a 1-seed out of the playoffs.

10th-Man Richie Guerin

Richie Guerin was a natural scorer and sharpshooter. Even though there was no 3-point line when he played, he was still one of the best shooters in his era. He would constantly finish close in best shooting percentage at the end of each season. In his eight seasons with the Knicks he averaged, 20.1 PPG, 6.4 RPG, 5.3 APG. He also had 16 triple-doubles which is second most in team history behind Frazier.

11th-Man: Dave DeBusschere

Dave played half of his career with the Knicks. In those six seasons he averaged 16.1 PPG, 11.2 RPG, 2.6 APG. He was a crucial bench piece on both championship teams. He also was an executive for the Knicks and helped win the lottery as they drafted Patrick Ewing.

12th-Man: Bernard King

Rounding up the last spot on this team is Bernard King. He only played four seasons with the Knicks. In those four seasons he averaged 26.5 PPG, 5.2 RPG, 2.8 APG. He scored a whopping 60 points Christmas Day in 1984. King was the first Knicks player to lead the league in scoring and is second in franchise history in PPG.

Head Coach: Red Holzman

In his 14 seasons coaching the Knicks he was able to achieve a lot. He had a record of613 wins, 483 losses, with a winning percentage of .559. He coached the Knicks to their only championships in 1970 and 1973.

Brian Cage vs. Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship

Brian Cage the FTW Champion was accompanied by Taz. Before the match, Taz was hyping up Cage and getting some last words on Moxley. Brian Cage went after Moxley however, Moxley ducked out of the way and got a few strikes in. Cage was able to take control and knock down Moxley. Cage early, showed off his unseen strength. This match has been back-and-forth and exciting. Both wrestlers have showed off dominant moves. They even took it out of the ring and used the ring apron to their advantage. Moxley went after Cage’s recently repaired bicep with numerous submissions. Moxley flipped off Taz while holding the submission. Taz eventually threw the towel saving Cage from any injury. Cage was angry and attacked Moxley with the FTW Championship. Darby Allin returned and attacked Cage with the skateboard.

This weeks episode of AEW Dynamite was very good with the exception of one match. I would give this show overall a B.
